Radial symmetry- symmetry around a central axis.

This jelly fish is an example of radial symmetry because its main body is circular and has a central axis.

r-strategist species are those that place an emphasis on a high growth rate, and, typically exploit less-crowded ecological niches, and produce many offspring, each of which has a relatively low probability of surviving to adulthood

This horse fly is an example of r strategist species because it has hundreds of offspring and has it does not have a long life.

Predation-the preying of one animal on others
This red wolf is an example of predation because it is a predator on the food chain.

Population- all the inhabitants of a particular town, area, or country
This group of fish is the population of fish in this environment. They are the only fish in this exhibit.

Niche- refers to the way in which an organism fits into an ecological community or ecosystem

 

This fish in this environment is a example of a niche because it is supposed to be in this environment and its not alien or an evasive species of this ecosystem.

Mating Behavior- is the advancement to the pairing of opposite-sex or hermaphroditic organisms, usually for the purposes of sexual reproduction.

The jellyfish with the red dots is an example of mating behavior because it is a sign saying that it is ready to mate.

long-day plants- are plants that flowers only after being exposed to light periods longer than a certain critical length, as in summer.

This corn plant is a long day plant because it is a vary tall plant that spend all day in the sun.
